Total killed by the Zaria bomb blast on Tuesday has risen to 25

Sahara Reporters confirms that the total killed by the Zaria bomb blast on Tuesday has risen to 25. The deaths reported include a two-year old child.
Samuel Arwan, spokesperson for Kaduna State Governor El-Rufai, reported in a statement that an additional 32 people suffered injuries. They are being treated at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital.

The number of deaths has increased from earlier reports that 20 people were killed in the bombing, which occurred at the Secretariat of the Sabon Gari Local Government Council.
The official count was announced after Governor El-Rufai made a speech at the scene of the attack condemning the acts of terror and praying for the victims.
According to the statement, “[El-Rufai] urged the people of Kaduna State as a whole to be vigilant, even as they preserve the peace. The Governor said residents of the State should promptly report all suspicious persons and activities to the security agencies and community leaders.” Extra security measures would be taken throughout the State, the Governor said, and residents should take caution in their daily lives.

The report also said the Governor will announce further steps to strengthen security in the area over the next few days.
